Dr. Alex Otti, the Governor of Abia State, along with fellow governors Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa, Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Umar Namadi of Jigawa, Dapo Abiodun of Ogun, and Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau, are among the esteemed recipients slated for the 2025 Nigeria GovTech Public Service Awards.
Organized by the Bureau of Public Service Reforms (BPSR), the Nigeria GovTech Conference and Awards has grown into a premier event that unites stakeholders from across Nigeria and the global community.
The upcoming conference is scheduled to take place at the Banquet Hall within the Presidential Villa in Abuja, from October 9 to 10, 2025.
In unveiling the event, Senator George Akume, Secretary to the Government of the Federation, emphasized the importance of this year’s theme: “Redefining Possibilities: Harnessing Emerging Technologies for Public Service Delivery and Socio-Economic Development.”
He highlighted that this theme goes beyond a mere call for innovation; it aligns strategically with the Federal Government’s Renewed Hope Agenda, focusing on utilizing technology to revolutionize governance, improve public service efficiency, and drive sustainable socio-economic progress.
The conference will gather top government officials, tech pioneers, development agencies, civil society representatives, and academic experts to explore how cutting-edge technologies can be leveraged to enhance governance, modernize public sector operations, and broaden Nigeria’s socio-economic horizons.
Dr. Dasuki I. Arabi, Director-General of the Bureau for Public Service Reforms, remarked that the GovTech Public Service Awards honor those who have led transformative initiatives and innovation within Nigeria’s public sector over the past year.
He explained that the 2025 honorees were meticulously chosen through a comprehensive nomination and voting process conducted nationwide across various media channels.
“These awards aim to recognize outstanding achievements and motivate leaders who have driven reforms that fortify institutions and elevate service delivery to Nigerian citizens,” Arabi stated.
Now in its third year, the Nigeria GovTech Conference and Awards has firmly positioned itself as the leading forum for celebrating and advancing technology-enabled governance in Nigeria.
