Senator Uba Sani, the governor of Kaduna State, confidently projected that the All Progressives Congress (APC) will secure an overwhelming 95 percent of the votes in the upcoming 2027 elections within the state.
Reflecting on the party’s growth, Governor Sani highlighted that while APC held only four seats in the House of Representatives from Kaduna in 2023, that number has now surged to 14, marking a apc-pdp-and-nnpp-supporters-decamp-to-adc-in-katsina/” title=”…, PDP and NNPP supporters decamp to ADC in Katsina”>significant political shift.
He attributed this remarkable increase not to chance but to his administration’s unwavering commitment to principles of justice, equity, and inclusiveness, which have attracted numerous legislators to the APC fold.
During a large-scale rally in Kaduna over the weekend, where several opposition members formally joined the APC, Governor Sani revealed that the party currently commands 13 House of Representatives seats from Kaduna, leaving the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) with just three.
Furthermore, the APC now boasts 26 members in the Kaduna State House of Assembly, compared to the PDP’s eight, underscoring the party’s dominant position in the state legislature.
“In Kaduna today, the opposition is virtually non-existent,” Sani declared. “A few months ago, I told President Bola Ahmed Tinubu that we were aiming for 80 percent of the vote share. However, I have revised that estimate upward-APC is poised to capture about 95 percent of the total votes in Kaduna come 2027.”
He reassured the new entrants that the APC operates as a unified family, emphasizing that all members-whether longstanding or recent-enjoy equal rights and opportunities within the party.
At the same event, APC national chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda hailed the party as the “land of opportunity” for Nigerian politicians. He praised the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani, asserting that their accomplishments merit a second term in office.
House of Representatives Speaker Tajudeen Abbas echoed this sentiment, noting that APC has achieved unprecedented political supremacy in Kaduna State, a milestone no other party has reached before.
“Across all three zones of Kaduna, APC stands as the dominant force. Our strength today is unmatched,” Abbas affirmed.
Representing the newly defected members, Honorable Husseini Jalo expressed gratitude to Governor Sani and President Tinubu for their exemplary leadership at both the state and national levels.
The rally drew a large crowd, including prominent figures such as APC national chairman Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, House Speaker Tajudeen Abbas, Minister of Environment Alhaji Balarabe Abbas Lawal, North West Development Commission chairman Alhaji Lawal Samaila Yakawada, alongside thousands of enthusiastic APC supporters.
