The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has taken into custody Mr. Ahamba Tochukwu, the Chief Executive Officer of Gavice Logistics Limited, on charges of orchestrating a Ponzi scheme that defrauded numerous investors of approximately N2 billion. The EFCC revealed that Tochukwu marketed Gavice Logistics as a multifaceted enterprise involved in haulage, courier, and e-commerce operations.
This development highlights the ongoing crackdown on fraudulent investment schemes in the logistics sector, where unsuspecting investors were lured by promises of high returns through a seemingly legitimate business model.
The EFCC’s intervention underscores the importance of vigilance and due diligence when engaging with investment opportunities, especially those that appear too lucrative to be genuine.
