Authorities are currently working closely with platinum-selling musician D4vd following the discovery of a decomposed body concealed in the trunk of a Tesla registered to the artist, which was impounded at a Los Angeles towing facility.

The grim find came after bystanders detected a strong, unpleasant odor emanating from the vehicle, prompting law enforcement to investigate and uncover the remains.

Insiders have confirmed that D4vd is fully cooperating with the ongoing inquiry. A police official verified that the Tesla, bearing Texas license plates, is registered under David Anthony Burke, the singer’s legal name.

According to a statement released by the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner on the evening of September 9, the deceased is a woman with curly black hair whose body was found in an advanced state of decomposition.

She bore a distinctive tattoo on her right index finger that read “Shhh,” the report detailed.

“The individual appears to have been deceased inside the vehicle for a prolonged duration prior to discovery. Due to the condition of the remains, we are unable to ascertain her age or ethnic background. She was dressed in a tube top and small-sized black leggings,” the report added.

Additional details noted that she wore yellow metal stud earrings and a matching yellow metal chain bracelet.

Burke, who is currently touring, performed in Madison, Wisconsin, on Sunday, September 7, and continued with a show in Minneapolis on Tuesday, September 9, after the body was found in his car.

Los Angeles police confirmed the body was located on Monday afternoon, September 8, following a complaint about a “strong odor coming from a vehicle” at a Hollywood tow yard.

“Detectives responded and discovered what appeared to be human remains,” an LAPD spokesperson stated. “The case is being treated as a death investigation.”

Sources revealed the vehicle had been left unattended for at least five days and was towed from the affluent Bird Streets area in the Hollywood Hills.

According to information shared with the Los Angeles Times, the remains consisted of a “head and torso” contained within a bag inside the trunk.

KTLA reported that the level of decomposition was so severe that investigators could not immediately determine the victim’s gender.

In response to the incident, fashion brands Crocs and Hollister announced they are suspending a campaign featuring D4vd, which showcased a “Dream Drop” collaboration between the two companies.

“We are monitoring this developing situation closely. Out of respect for the ongoing investigation, we have removed all campaign materials featuring D4vd,” the brands stated in a joint message to Footwear News.
