Zinox Technologies, a foremost ICT conglomerate in Nigeria, has teamed up with KongaCares-the philanthropic division of Konga Group-to introduce the Computerise Nigeria Initiative. This ambitious national campaign aims to close the digital education divide by providing one million Nigerian youths with laptops, essential digital resources, and hands-on skills tailored for tomorrow’s job market.

The initiative was officially launched at GITEX Nigeria 2025, held at the Eko Convention Centre in Lagos. It invites corporations, philanthropists, NGOs, and government bodies to sponsor entire classrooms, schools, or individual students. Sponsors can benefit from an interest-free payment plan by making a 30% initial deposit on bulk laptop purchases, with the balance payable over six months.

With Nigeria’s youth unemployment rate exceeding 33%, and many graduates lacking advanced ICT competencies, this program arrives at a pivotal moment. By facilitating access to laptops bundled with power backup solutions, satellite internet connectivity, and comprehensive training, the initiative seeks to empower young Nigerians, reduce joblessness, and prepare the workforce for a burgeoning $1 trillion digital economy.

At the unveiling, Leo Stan-Ekeh, Chairman of Zinox Group, emphasized the critical need for swift action:

“Unemployment and the lack of employable skills among our youth represent the most pressing challenges facing Nigeria today. It is imperative that we equip our young people with cutting-edge ICT expertise to enhance their productivity. Computerise Nigeria is a rallying call for all stakeholders to collaborate in transforming the future of a generation.”

Demonstrating his dedication, Ekeh contributed ₦10 million to the Nigeria Computer Society (NCS), represented at the event by its President, Dr. Muhammed Sirajo Aliyu. Dr. Aliyu hailed the initiative as a transformative project with the potential to revolutionize educational environments nationwide.

Additionally, Ekeh donated ₦5 million to Mrs. Veronica Owolabi, Provost of the Computer Professionals Registration Council of Nigeria (CPN) and a Fellow of the NCS, in recognition of her commitment to advancing technology education.

Through their extensive reach, Zinox and KongaCares will spearhead the Computerise Nigeria Initiative by distributing laptops equipped with iPower inverters, Starlink internet connectivity, and ongoing customer support. The program also offers flexible, interest-free payment plans to ensure affordability and accessibility.

Mrs. Kelechi Eze-Okonta, Managing Director of Zinox Technologies, highlighted the company’s presence in all 774 local government areas across Nigeria, positioning it uniquely to implement a project of this scale effectively.

Media outlets KongaTV and Konga103.7FM provided extensive coverage of the launch, helping to spread awareness and encourage potential sponsors to join the initiative’s mission.
