Between September 10 and 13, 2025, Nigerian Army forces successfully eliminated multiple terrorists, apprehended six individuals suspected of kidnapping, and freed 30 hostages.
According to senior military officials, the troops seized weapons, ammunition, and various supplies from insurgents, with several militants surrendering during the operations.
On September 10, soldiers from the 22 Brigade detained two alleged kidnappers in Babanna, located within the Borgu local government area of Niger State.
That same day, personnel from the 12 Brigade, working alongside hybrid forces and local vigilantes, liberated 17 abducted passengers who had been abandoned by their captors in Lokoja, Kogi State.
In a similar rescue, troops from Sector 1 of Operation Whirl Stroke (OPWS) saved another hostage in Katsina-Ala LGA, Benue State.
Meanwhile, in Plateau State, soldiers from Sector 8 of Operation Enduring Peace (OPEP) arrested two suspected cattle rustlers in Mangu LGA, recovering firearms, ammunition, and cash during the arrest.
During a patrol in Ado LGA, Benue State, Sector 1 OPWS troops also recovered an AK-47 rifle along with 29 rounds of ammunition.
On September 11, 12 Brigade forces in Kogi State neutralized a violent extremist in Kabba Bunu LGA, confiscating a fully loaded AK-47 magazine and 31 mobile phones.
Meanwhile, in Borno State, a member of ISWAP/JAS surrendered to hybrid forces in Ngamdu, providing critical intelligence on terrorist activities.
That day, 8 Division troops rescued seven kidnapped individuals and recovered a vehicle following a clash with terrorists along the Marnona-Gundumi-Isa road.
Additionally, 12 Brigade forces freed four abductees along the Egbe-Eruku Road in Yagba West LGA, Kogi State.
In Plateau State, Sector 2 troops successfully repelled an extremist assault in Quan-Pan LGA with the assistance of tactical drones, while Sector 3 OPEP forces rescued another hostage in Bassa LGA.
Also on September 11, security personnel intercepted smugglers in Mubi South LGA, Adamawa State, who abandoned a truck loaded with 20 jerrycans of petrol (PMS).
In the South-South region, Operation Delta Safe troops uncovered and dismantled an illicit oil refining facility in Bayelsa State containing approximately 3,800 litres of stolen crude oil. Another team intercepted 1,600 litres of illegally refined automotive gas oil (AGO) in Rivers State.
On September 12, Sector 3 OPEP troops rescued an additional kidnapped victim in Bassa LGA, Plateau State, who had been abducted the previous day in Jos.
