Osun State Governor Ademola Adeleke has once more refuted circulating speculations about his alleged intention to switch allegiance to the African Democratic Congress (ADC), affirming his unwavering loyalty to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Persistent whispers have suggested that the osun-as-apc-sends-warning-shot-to-gov-adeleke-days-after-tinubu-talks/” title=”Tension in … as APC sends warning shot to Gov Adeleke days after Tinubu talks”>governor might abandon the PDP for another political platform. Earlier, these rumours hinted at a possible move to the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement issued on Wednesday by his media aide, Olawale Rasheed, the governor categorically dismissed these claims as a strategic ploy by political adversaries aiming to confuse the electorate and destabilize the political climate in Osun State.
Rasheed stated, “We have noted reports alleging that Governor Ademola Adeleke intends to join the African Democratic Congress (ADC). This narrative is not only baseless but also a deliberate effort by those threatened by the governor’s rising popularity to generate doubt and unrest among the people of Osun.”
He further clarified that Governor Adeleke has no plans to leave the PDP, emphasizing that any such assertions are completely unfounded. The governor remains dedicated to his administrative duties and is actively preparing for his 2026 re-election campaign under the PDP banner.
“Let us reiterate emphatically that Governor Adeleke is steadfast in his commitment to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and has no intention of joining the ADC or any other pdp-secretariat/” title=”FCT police command denies sealing … Secretariat”>political party,” Rasheed affirmed.

Underlining Adeleke’s focus on governance, the statement added, “Currently, Governor Adeleke is fully engaged in delivering the benefits of democracy to the people of Osun, who overwhelmingly entrusted him with their votes three years ago.”
As the 2026 gubernatorial elections approach, Adeleke alongside PDP officials are actively rallying grassroots support through ongoing voter registration drives. Rasheed expressed confidence in the party’s organizational strength and the electorate’s backing.
“Moreover, Governor Adeleke and PDP leadership are intensifying efforts to strengthen party structures during the voter registration process ahead of next year’s polls, positioning him strongly for victory,” the statement concluded.
Rasheed called on the public to disregard any future rumours about defections, reaffirming the governor’s solid relationship with both the PDP and the citizens of Osun State.
“We urge everyone to dismiss any further reports linking Governor Adeleke to defection as entirely false,” he concluded.
