Jimsan Revolutionizes Nigerian Food Production with Cutting-Edge Smart Agriculture

Jimsan Smart Agri Limited is accelerating its mission to revolutionize rural agriculture and boost food production throughout Nigeria by implementing innovative smart farming techniques and supplying farmers with premium inputs on interest-free credit terms.

At the 2025 Farmers’ Field Day held at one of Jimsan’s cluster farms in Mararrabar Jos, Kaduna, the company’s managing director, Abubakar Saidu Dansadau, highlighted that the event serves as a platform to celebrate the accomplishments of smallholder farmers while fostering stronger collaborations within the agricultural value chain.

He elaborated that Jimsan was founded to champion smart agriculture as a strategic response to climate-related challenges such as flooding and drought, which severely impact food security.

“Farmers alone cannot fully overcome these obstacles, and many remain unaware of modern farming techniques. This is why we collaborate with various institutions to connect them directly with farmers,” he stated.

Dansadau further revealed that Jimsan has organized hundreds of farmers into community clusters, offering them access to top-grade agricultural inputs through non-interest loans. These inputs are procured straight from manufacturers to eliminate counterfeit products and keep costs affordable for farmers.

Additionally, the company has equipped lead farmers and crop experts within each cluster to deliver extension services focused on best agronomic practices, thereby maximizing crop yields and productivity per hectare.

Representing the Federal Ministry of Agriculture, Deputy Director Anto Andy Ogah affirmed that Jimsan’s initiatives complement the Ministry’s ongoing programs, particularly those distributing subsidized or interest-free agricultural inputs.

“The Ministry has initiated input distribution starting in Niger State and plans to expand nationwide. We are committed to ensuring these resources reach genuine farmers in Kaduna State,” Ogah confirmed.

Also addressing the gathering, Dr. Hosea Yakubu, on behalf of Muhammad Abu Ibrahim, Executive Secretary of the National Agricultural Development Fund (NADF), praised the dedication and perseverance of Nigerian farmers. He commended Jimsan for supporting NADF’s mission to enhance productivity, strengthen food security, and uplift rural communities.

He emphasized that NADF is actively partnering with Jimsan and other stakeholders to supply quality inputs and provide essential extension services.

The district head of Noma, Mallam Isah Musa, also expressed appreciation for Jimsan’s significant contributions toward increasing food production in the region.
