Three individuals suspected of kidnapping have been apprehended by the Delta State Police Command, who also successfully recovered a vehicle belonging to the victim.
According to a statement released on Monday, September 22, 2025, by the command’s spokesperson, SP Bright Edafe, the victim was abducted from his home in Ogwashi-Uku and taken into a nearby forested area.
Despite the kidnappers receiving a ransom payment of two million naira from the victim’s relatives, they cruelly shot the victim in the leg when he was unable to provide the full amount demanded.
Under the leadership of CSP Godwin Osadolor, police officers launched a rescue operation in the bush, successfully freeing the victim. The pursuit of the suspects led the team to Idemili North Local Government Area in Anambra State, where two suspects, Uche Okechukwu and Chukwuebuka Nka, were detained.
Following their confessions, the police raided a hideout in Agidiase village, Ogwashi-Uku, arresting the third suspect, 18-year-old Somto Chukwuma.
Somto then guided the officers to an additional location in Ogwashi-Uku, where they recovered a Toyota Matrix used in their operations, along with a device designed to jam communication signals.
