On Wednesday, September 18, 2024, Dr. Umar Tanko Yakasai, Director General of the Tinubu Support Group (TSG), warmly welcomed the BAT Ideological Group to Abuja for a significant courtesy visit, highlighted by the official launch of the group’s handbook.
The gathering attracted coordinators representing the BAT Ideological Group from all 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory, showcasing the extensive national reach and robust organizational framework of the movement.
During the event, Dr. Yakasai lauded Hon. Bamidele Atoyebi, the group’s founder, for his visionary effort to formalize and propagate the political philosophy of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
He expressed admiration for the group’s dedication to enhancing political awareness and educating grassroots communities about government initiatives.
Alhaji Tejumade Suleiman, a patron of the BAT Ideological Group and a longtime associate of President Tinubu, also attended. He hailed the handbook’s unveiling as a pivotal achievement and reiterated his unwavering support for the group’s objectives.
In his remarks, Atoyebi characterized the handbook as both a “navigation tool” and a comprehensive guide designed to empower members in championing Tinubu’s agenda for forward-thinking governance.
He emphasized that the BAT Ideological Group transcends the typical political support organization, positioning itself as a collective of skilled professionals ready to contribute to national development at the highest echelons.
Atoyebi detailed the group’s initiatives, which include awareness drives on local government autonomy, healthcare system improvements, the NELFUND student loan program, and the ₦45,000 monthly allowance for technical college students under the TVET reform scheme.
He revealed that the group has allocated approximately ₦20 million towards deploying drones across the country to oversee federal projects and promote balanced regional development.
Additionally, the group has funded radio campaigns, developed a dedicated website for the TSG to streamline support group coordination, and completed formal registration with the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), underscoring its commitment to longevity and professionalism.
Atoyebi explained that the newly released handbook consolidates these efforts, serving as a vital resource for members to enhance outreach, strategic planning, and community involvement.
He encouraged all coordinators to thoroughly engage with the handbook, reminding them that the core values of President Tinubu-dedication to public service, inclusivity, humility, and progressive ideals-should continually inspire their work.
