Schneider Electric, a global frontrunner in energy management and automation renowned for its commitment to sustainability, has introduced the TeSys Deca Advanced contactor series to its West African channel partners. This new lineup includes 115A and 150A models for 3-pole configurations and a 200A model for 4-pole setups.
Featuring advanced wide-band coil technology, the TeSys Deca Advanced is engineered to handle voltage variations ranging from 24V to 500V AC/DC, making it ideal for regions with unstable power supplies. It meets the stringent requirements of the IEC 60947-4-1 standard and supports motor operation categories AC3, AC3(e), and AC4 without the need for derating at voltages of 380V or 480V.
Designed with energy efficiency in mind, this contactor reduces main power dissipation by 10%, cuts coil inrush current by half, and decreases its physical width by 20%. These improvements contribute to lower CO₂ emissions and reduced operational expenses, enabling industries to achieve both high performance and sustainability targets.
Opeyemi Olaniyan, Offer Manager for Power Products at Schneider Electric West Africa, emphasized that the TeSys Deca Advanced was tailored to meet the dynamic demands of West African industries, where operational uptime, durability, and ease of deployment are paramount.
“From the bustling mining sites in Nigeria to Ghana’s food processing plants and water treatment operations throughout the region, industrial operators face the dual challenge of enhancing reliability while optimizing energy consumption. The TeSys Deca Advanced delivers a smart, resilient motor control solution designed to address these exact needs,” Olaniyan explained.
This contactor excels in tough, high-demand sectors such as mining, water and wastewater treatment, HVAC systems, packaging machinery, hoisting devices, and elevator installations.
Its innovative three-layer ergonomic design streamlines both installation and maintenance by improving wiring visibility and accessibility-an essential advantage in areas where technical expertise may be scarce.
Incorporating Schneider Electric’s patented Everlink technology, the contactor ensures secure, long-lasting, and maintenance-free electrical connections even in the most challenging industrial settings. The one-click connection feature can slash installation time by up to 75%, while its direct PLC control capability simplifies inventory management and selection processes, reducing complexity by as much as 80% and promoting leaner operational workflows.
“As a digitally enabled device, the TeSys Deca Advanced supports predictive maintenance through real-time diagnostic capabilities. This allows businesses to foresee potential issues before they arise, a critical advantage for minimizing unexpected downtime and extending equipment life,” Olaniyan added.
By facilitating intelligent motor control and delivering actionable real-time data, this solution plays a vital role in advancing the connectivity, efficiency, and sustainability of West African industrial operations.
“Our mission in the region is to provide customers with solutions that combine robustness and reliability with alignment to global sustainability objectives. The TeSys Deca Advanced represents a significant milestone in fulfilling that commitment,” Olaniyan concluded.
