Authorities from the Rivers State Police Command have taken into custody a security officer known only as Godday, who man-hides-body/” title=”Horror in Ondo: Suspected Drug Lord Tortures 28-Year-Old to Death, Conceals Body in Water Drum”>stands accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 14-year-old girl in the Mothercat area of Trans-Amadi, Port Harcourt.
The arrest occurred last Tuesday, following a joint operation between the Amadi Police Division and security staff from a neighboring bank near the crime scene.
In a statement to reporters in Port Harcourt, the victim’s mother recounted how she had sent her daughter to withdraw cash from an ATM, only for the girl to be forcibly taken inside the bank where the suspect was employed and assaulted.
“On Saturday, September 20, 2025, shortly after 1 pm, I wasn’t feeling well, so I asked my daughter to go to Mothercat to withdraw money using my ATM card. I also gave her transport fare to save time,” she explained.
“She first withdrew money at a commercial bank in Mothercat, then took a tricycle to Ordinance Junction to get more funds. When I called her, she said she was finished.”
“However, she didn’t return as expected, and her phone went unanswered. After several attempts, she finally answered in a faint voice, saying she was on her way home.”
“When she arrived, her clothes were drenched in water and blood, and she had visible bruises on her face, neck, and leg. Her left jaw and eye were swollen, and she appeared extremely weak.”
“We immediately reported the incident at the Amadi police station and took her to the hospital for medical care. Once she regained some strength, we asked her to describe what happened.”
“She said that while withdrawing money at the Ordinance bank, a man was standing behind her, which made her think he was also there to use the ATM.”
“After she completed her transaction, she noticed the man did not proceed to the ATM. Instead, he followed her into another tricycle and accompanied her back to a different bank in Mothercat.”
“Upon arrival, the man forcibly dragged her in front of the bank. Despite her cries for help, no one intervened. He then took her inside the bank where he worked as a security guard, locked the gate, and sexually assaulted her. During the struggle, he covered her mouth and beat her until she lost consciousness.”
The victim’s mother added that after several hours, the assailant woke her daughter and instructed her to gather her belongings and leave.
“We reported the case again to the bank where she initially withdrew money in Mothercat. Staff there helped locate and apprehend the suspect. When I counted the money she was supposed to withdraw, N340,000 was missing.”
Overcome with emotion, the mother expressed her anguish over her daughter’s traumatic loss of innocence and called for a thorough investigation and justice.
State Police Command spokesperson, SP Grace Iringe-Koko, verified the arrest and confirmed the case is now under the jurisdiction of the State Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (SCIID) in Port Harcourt for further inquiry.
“Yes, the suspect has been detained, and the matter is being thoroughly investigated by SCIID,” the police public relations officer stated.
