Nigeria’s side event at the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA80) in New York has drawn global leaders to the country’s achievements and vision for its future development.

The event, themed “UNGA 80: Global Partnerships, Local Prosperity: Unlocking Nigeria’s Renewed Hope Blueprint for Sustainable Growth,” was held at the Nigeria Mission House in New York.

In his remarks, the chairman of Renewed Hope USA, Chief Emeka Molokwu, described it as a defining moment where Nigeria’s Diaspora and home-based leadership united to showcase the nation’s achievements.

Molokwu said coming as one nation is a platform that showcases Nigeria’s resilience and reaffirms its central role in shaping Africa’s destiny.

The discussions highlighted Nigeria’s advancements in digital transformation, leveraging technology to drive growth and development in the country.

They agreed to drive youth empowerment initiatives aimed at supporting and empowering young Nigerians, which are designed to protect and support vulnerable populations.

Meanwhile, the secretary of Renewed Hope USA, Ambassador Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, in her closing remarks, emphasised her belief that Nigeria’s future looks bright for all.

She encouraged the participants to continue supporting the current government, contribute innovative ideas and attract more investors, while wishing everyone a safe journey home.

The participants urged Nigerians to support President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda in delivering tangible results.

With its array of high-ranking officials and thought leaders, the gathering confirmed Nigeria’s capacity and commitment to global leadership.

The event drew speakers, including HRH Sanusi Lamido Sanusi, the Emir of Kano, Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State, minister of Youth Development, Ayodele Olawande, minister of Health, Prof. Muhammad Ali Pate, DG NIMC, Engr. Abisoye Coker-Odusote, DG NEMA, Mrs. Zubaida Umar, DG NITDA, Mr Kashifu Inuwa Abdullahi, executive vice chairman/CEO, National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI), Dr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu.

Other notable speakers included the national programme manager, National Home-Grown School Feeding Programme (RH-NHGSFP), Dr Abike Dabiri-Erewa, CEO of the Nigeria Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), special adviser to the President on Economic and Financial Inclusion, Dr Nurudeen Zauro and DG/CEO of ECEWS, Dr Andy Eyo.
