Two police-arrest-10-stolen-motorcycle-receivers-recover-7/” title=”Kano … Crack Down: Arrest 10 Motorcycle Thieves' Receivers, Recover Seven Stolen Bikes”>individuals suspected of orchestrating kidnappings that have unsettled communities in Lafia and Doma local government areas have been apprehended by the Nasarawa State Police Command.
The detainees have been identified as Abubakar Abdullahi, aged 28, hailing from Jalti Village in Dass LGA, Bauchi State, and Abdullahi Isah, 32, from Tudun Alaramma in Doma LGA, Nasarawa State.
According to the police spokesperson, SP Ramhan Nansel, officers from the Doma division arrested the suspects on September 28, 2025, following reports from residents of Saman Laraba, Doma, and parts of Lafia. These residents had been receiving threatening phone calls for over two months, with kidnappers demanding a ransom of ₦3,000,000 under the threat of abduction.
“Our investigation uncovered that these suspects had been repeatedly contacting numerous individuals in Doma, coercing them into paying ransom, with some victims complying,” Nansel explained.
“Upon questioning, the suspects admitted to extorting amounts ranging between ₦6 million and ₦7 million from people across both Doma and Lafia local government areas.”
Following the arrests, the Commissioner of Police, CP Shetima Jauro Mohammed, directed that the suspects be handed over to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Lafia for thorough and confidential inquiries.
“The police command remains steadfast in its dedication to combating criminal activities and calls on the public to continue sharing timely and relevant information to help foster a safer environment for all,” Nansel added.
