Manchester United have managed only seven points from their opening six Premier League fixtures…
Ex-Super Eagles midfielder Mikel Obi has forecasted that Manchester United will conclude the Premier League season around 13th or 14th place, according to Soccernet.ng.
The Red Devils have struggled significantly since the start of the campaign under the guidance of coach Ruben Amorim, recording two wins, one draw, and three defeats so far.
Their most recent setback was a 3-1 loss to Brentford at the G-Tech Community Stadium last weekend, a result that disappointed fans and pundits alike.
Following this defeat, Manchester United find themselves 14th in the Premier League standings, trailing league leaders Liverpool by eight points, who currently have 15 points.
Mikel Obi, who enjoyed a lengthy Premier League career primarily with Chelsea, obi-chelsea-premier-league-challenges/” title=”… Uncovers the Two Key Challenges Threatening Chelsea's Premier … Hopes This Season”>remains skeptical about any imminent turnaround for the Red Devils.

He argues that the squad lacks depth in critical positions and that Amorim’s tactical approach has failed to resonate with the players.
“I’m completely baffled by Manchester United’s recruitment strategy; it’s a total mess,” Mikel expressed on the Obi One Podcast.
“I supported Ruben Amorim from the start because I believed in his managerial skills. Watching his Sporting team was impressive, the style was excellent.
“However, the current Manchester United squad just isn’t up to the mark. Players like Harry Maguire and De Ligt were disorganized against Brentford.
“Amorim tried repositioning Maguire to the right and De Ligt to the left to find a functional system, but it simply didn’t work. They lack pace and mobility.
“Then you have Bruno Fernandes and Casemiro as your two holding midfielders. That combination won’t secure a league title; with players like these, finishing 13th or 14th is realistic.
“That’s where Manchester United stands at the moment-they’re stuck near the bottom of the table.
“At one point, Mbeumo was deployed as a right wing-back and Mason Mount on the left wing-back. The team’s setup is chaotic,” Mikel concluded.
Is There Hope for Manchester United’s Revival?
Currently, the outlook for Manchester United’s resurgence appears bleak with Ruben Amorim still at the helm.

The squad’s performances have been underwhelming, the club’s financial constraints limit marquee signings compared to rivals, and Amorim remains reluctant to alter his tactical framework.
With mounting pressure on the Portuguese coach, his position could be at risk if the team’s poor form continues.
Unless there is a swift improvement, critics like Mikel Obi are likely to continue voicing their doubts about Manchester United’s prospects.
