Kuwaiti authorities have detained an individual suspected of planning attacks on religious sites within the country, the Ministry of Interior revealed on Tuesday.
The detainee, described as an Arab national, is believed to have connections with a prohibited extremist organization. Officials stated that his capture was the result of “meticulous and comprehensive investigations” conducted by security forces.
According to the ministry‘s announcement, “The suspect was taken into custody after intelligence confirmed his intentions to target places of worship. Subsequent searches of his residence uncovered multiple explosive devices, components for bomb-making, and detailed instructions on assembling and deploying them.”
Authorities emphasized that the evidence underscored “the severity and immediacy of the threat,” highlighting the critical importance of preventing the attack before it could be carried out.
The ministry reassured the public that security agencies are maintaining heightened vigilance and will persist in implementing strong measures to safeguard community safety.
