Arsenal has officially confirmed that William Saliba has committed to a new long-term contract with the club, as announced on Tuesday.
The French defender, aged 24, has reportedly agreed to a five-year extension, securing his future at the Emirates Stadium until 2030. His previous agreement was due to expire in 2027.
Despite earlier rumors linking him with a move to Real Madrid, Saliba was widely anticipated to remain with Arsenal. Since joining the Gunners in 2019, he experienced multiple loan spells before cementing his place as a key figure in Mikel Arteta’s starting lineup during the 2022/23 campaign.
Saliba has been instrumental in Arsenal’s consistent top-tier performances, helping the team secure second place in the Premier League for three consecutive seasons.
Reflecting on his decision, Saliba shared, “I truly feel at home here. We have a strong squad, excellent staff, and a coach who perfectly suits my style. This is the ideal environment for me. Wearing this jersey is a privilege I cherish every day, and I’m committed to giving my all for the club and our supporters.”
Manager Mikel Arteta praised the defender, stating, “William is highly respected by both teammates and staff, which highlights his outstanding character, dedication, and daily work ethic. Since joining us, he has developed significantly, taken on greater responsibility, and built a deep bond with our fans and the entire club.”
Currently, Arsenal sit second in the Premier League standings, trailing leaders Liverpool by just two points after six matches this season.
