The Action Alliance (AA) has dismissed a recent ruling by the Federal High Court in Osogbo, which reportedly acknowledged the executive committee led by Adekunle Rufai Omoaje as the legitimate leadership of the party.
According to the party, the true national leadership remains under Chief Kenneth Udeze, emphasizing that earlier decisions from both trial courts and the Court of Appeal have already affirmed Udeze’s authority.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Vernimbe James, the party’s National Secretary, expressed surprise at the Osogbo court‘s verdict, highlighting that multiple rulings from courts in Abuja have consistently supported the Udeze-led administration.
He further clarified that the issue of party leadership is currently under review by the Supreme Court in Appeal No: SC/CV/162/2024, involving Adekunle Rufai Omoaje and others against Chief Uzewuru Nwachukwu, Kenneth Udeze, Action Alliance, and INEC.
The statement also noted that neither Chief Udeze nor members of the officially recognized National Executive Committee were respondents in the recent case filed in Osogbo.
The party has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to adhere to the existing court rulings favoring the Udeze leadership and to refrain from recognizing any opposing claims until the Supreme Court delivers a conclusive judgment.
Additionally, the AA urged the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court to consider consolidating all pending Action Alliance cases within the Abuja Division to avoid contradictory decisions.
