Godswill Akpabio, the President of the Senate, revealed that a growing number of opposition governors are finalizing plans to align themselves with President Bola Tinubu’s ruling party. He also highlighted that Nigerians are beginning to witness tangible benefits under Tinubu’s leadership.
Akpabio made these remarks during the unveiling of a book titled ‘Ten Years of Impactful Leadership of The APC Administration in Nigeria’, authored by Governor Hope Uzodimma, in Owerri, the capital of Imo State.
He remarked, “Mr. President, given the progress you have achieved over the past two years, prepare to welcome more governors from opposition parties. At this moment, numerous governors across Nigeria are eager to join your administration.”
He went on to emphasize that the positive changes under President Tinubu’s government are becoming evident to the populace. “Students, farmers, and entrepreneurs alike are voicing their appreciation for the reforms you have introduced, which are now bearing fruit for the nation’s overall welfare. While critics might dismiss our praise as mere endorsement, it is the beneficiaries themselves who are acknowledging your accomplishments,” Akpabio explained.
“I am a firm believer in advancement and growth. I commend Governor Uzodimma for documenting a decade of significant leadership by the APC in Nigeria. If you don’t narrate your own story, others will do it for you. True progress is demonstrated through deeds, not words. The caliber of projects completed by the governor is exceptional, and the people of Imo State must be immensely proud,” he added.
Reflecting on his own tenure, Akpabio noted that even 18 years ago, as governor of Akwa Ibom State, his administration was marked by forward-thinking initiatives and impactful projects.
He concluded by congratulating both his host and the national leadership of the ruling party for their accomplishments over the past decade.
