The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Lagos State during the 2023 elections, Olajide Adediran, popularly known as Jandor, has said that Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, is qualified to contest the state’s governorship in 2027.
Adediran, however, argued that Seyi lacks the pdp-2027-presidential-draft-jonathan-obi-makinde/” title=”… Eyes 2027 Showdown: Jonathan, Obi, and Makinde Poised for Presidential Draft, Says Abba Moro”>political experience he has acquired, noting that the president’s son has never contested any election.
Speaking on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday, Adediran was asked whether he believes he stands a chance against prominent figures who have been linked to the 2027 race, including Seyi Tinubu, former Governor Akinwunmi Ambode, and Senator Tokunbo Abiru.
“All the names you mentioned are qualified to be governor of Lagos, including Seyi,” Jandor said. “But aside from the former governor, none of them has ever been on the ballot as a governorship candidate, except myself.”
He added that his experience sets him apart: “I come with the experience of somebody who has single-handedly gone through that process without any political backing.”
