The Bauchi State Government has demoted the Vice Principal (Academics) of Jibril Aminu Model Secondary School to the rank of classroom teacher after she was found guilty of subjecting students to excessive corporal punishment.
The decision was taken at an emergency meeting of the senior management committee of the Bauchi State Special Schools Management Board on Tuesday.
Confirming the development, the Chairman of the Board, Babangida Barau, urged parents to remain calm, assuring that further disciplinary steps would follow due investigation.
“The education-minister-over-alleged-sack-of-varsities-vcs/” title=”Reps invite … minister over alleged sack of varsities’ VCs”>board is committed to delivering quality education and discipline in line with modern standards of school administration,” Barau stated.
In a separate action, the Bauchi State Civil Service Commission has dismissed two officers, Yusuf Ningi, an administrative officer, and Suleiman Ahmed, a principal executive officer, for forgery.
According to a statement issued on Wednesday by the Commission’s spokesperson, Saleh Umar, the decision was reached during the Commission’s 35th plenary session held on September 23, 2025.
“The dismissal was considered and formalised at the plenary. The offence contravened State Public Service Rule 0327 (ii, iii and vi). The dismissal took effect from September 23, 2025,” the statement read.
The disciplinary actions underscore the state government’s renewed stance on accountability within its education and civil service sectors.
