In her statement commemorating World Teachers’ Day 2025, observed on October 5 with the theme “Focusing on the Global Teacher Shortage,” Mrs. Tinubu stressed that this educator deficit demands prompt and decisive action.
“Addressing the scarcity of teachers requires urgent measures, including empowering educators, investing in their professional development, and motivating more people to embrace this noble career,” she asserted.
She lauded teachers as “genuine champions,” acknowledging their vital contribution in “molding intellects, fostering aspirations, and steering future generations,” while calling for enhanced appreciation of their influence on the country’s progress.
