The 27th edition of the Nigerian University Games (NUGA) is slated to be hosted by the University of Jos (UNIJOS) from November 6 to 16, 2025.
With just a month remaining, preparations are intensifying as UNIJOS prepares to welcome 7,457 accredited athletes and officials representing universities nationwide for ten days filled with spirited competition, unity, and the celebration of collegiate sports achievements.
Recognized as Nigeria’s foremost university sports event, the Games will showcase student-athletes competing across multiple disciplines, aiming to promote national cohesion, uncover emerging talents, and contribute to the country’s development through sports.
Qualifying rounds have either concluded or are currently ongoing within the 15 NUGA zones spread across the country, determining the universities that will advance to the main event.
On the university’s preparedness, Professor Ishaya Tanko, Vice-Chancellor of UNIJOS, emphasized the institution’s dedication to delivering an unforgettable experience.
