Contrary to recent reports, Dr. Olusegun Mimiko, the ex-governor of Ondo State, has not been designated to lead former President Goodluck Jonathan’s consultation efforts in the South West region.
Eni Akinsola, Mimiko’s spokesperson, addressed the rumors, clarifying that no such appointment has been made regarding the former president’s 2027 consultation plans in the South West.
Akinsola emphasized, “The Mimiko I know holds former President Jonathan in high regard, but he has neither been contacted nor assigned any role in a campaign that remains speculative and may never materialize. It’s also clear that he is not seeking any position.”
While former President Jonathan has officially announced his intention to run in the 2027 elections, there are still ongoing discussions about his potential candidacy.
