Nigerian Army forces have rescued-katsina/” title=”NAF Strikes Hard: Bandit Enclave Obliterated and 76 Hostages Heroically … in Katsina!”>successfully eliminated nine terrorists, detained eight suspects, and liberated 37 abducted individuals, including a pregnant woman who gave birth during the rescue operation in Kebbi State.
According to senior military officials, operations carried out between October 2 and 6, 2025, across various regions led to the seizure of numerous weapons and other contraband.
In the North East, soldiers from the 151 Task Force Battalion launched a surprise attack on ISWAP/JAS militants in Dipchari, located in Bama Local Government Area of Borno State, resulting in the deaths of five insurgents after intense combat.
Similarly, troops from the 148 Battalion engaged and killed two insurgents near Iyemero community on the Ekiti-Kogi border, recovering two brand-new AK-47 rifles in the process.
Meanwhile, the 3 Battalion successfully thwarted a major assault on their position, inflicting significant losses on the attackers, with one insurgent confirmed dead and several others retreating with gunshot injuries.
In addition to combat successes, the military apprehended eight individuals suspected of involvement in terrorism, kidnapping, and illegal arms possession across Borno, Katsina, Imo, and Plateau states.
“Among those detained were an ISWAP supply courier in Monguno, a suspected terrorist collaborator in Kukawa, a high-profile IPOB/ESN operative in Imo, and a suspected arms trafficker in Plateau,” disclosed the source.
The troops also confiscated one dane gun, a homemade pistol, three AK-47 magazines, 12 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition, 93 belted rounds of 7.62mm NATO, and several motorcycles used in criminal activities.
In a remarkable rescue, 28 civilians were freed from terrorist captivity in Sakaba, Kebbi State, including a pregnant woman who delivered a baby during the operation.
Separate missions in Kaduna and Delta states resulted in the release of seven kidnapped individuals, while two more hostages were rescued in Mangu Local Government Area of Plateau State following a rapid response by Operation ENDURING PEACE forces.
In Imo State, joint efforts by the 34 Artillery Brigade and Operation DELTA SAFE uncovered multiple illicit oil refining sites, destroying over 20,000 litres of stolen crude oil and refined products, which were disposed of in line with official protocols.
Overall, the military successfully rescued 37 abducted persons across Kaduna, Taraba, Plateau, Delta, and Kebbi states during these coordinated operations.
