Union Bank of Nigeria Plc has reiterated its preparedness to embark on a new chapter of expansion, emphasizing upgraded infrastructure, enhanced customer service, and deeper engagement with stakeholders as key elements of its revitalized strategic vision.

This commitment was expressed during an informal gathering with the media held at SpaceNXT, the bank’s innovation and collaboration center in Lagos. The occasion aimed to nurture stronger bonds and encourage open communication between the bank and media professionals, highlighting the importance of human connection and recognizing the media’s vital role in shaping public opinion and promoting the bank’s corporate objectives.

At the event, Olufunmilola Aluko, Union Bank’s Chief Brand and Marketing Officer, emphasized that the initiative reflects the bank’s dedication to fostering genuine partnerships built on honesty and openness.

“This gathering centers on people. With a legacy spanning 108 years, Union Bank has witnessed tremendous evolution-from telegram services to mobile payment platforms; from manual record-keeping to sophisticated AI analytics. Yet, throughout these transformations, one element has remained steadfast: the media,” she remarked.

Aluko further explained that the event was designed to remind attendees that beyond the rush of news cycles and deadlines lie shared human stories and a mutual commitment to truth, narrative, and meaningful influence. “Our goal was to establish a relaxed, personal environment where we could connect without the constraints of formal press releases or corporate protocols,” she added.

“Union Bank has methodically upgraded its systems and enhanced service delivery in readiness for the upcoming growth phase. As we introduce new projects, we eagerly anticipate collaborating with the media to communicate our narrative with precision, transparency, and influence,” Ibikunle affirmed.

Among the senior leaders present were Taiwo Shote, Executive Director of Corporate Banking (Lagos and West), along with other key members of the management team. The evening included a guided tour of Stallion Plaza and networking opportunities, reflecting the bank’s commitment to cultivating warm, lasting relationships beyond traditional corporate interactions.
