Dr. Sama’ila Dahuwa, the Senator for Bauchi North, has officially stepped down from his affiliation with the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), attributing his departure to ongoing leadership disputes within the pdp/” title=”Gov Mbah rules out exit from …”>party’s Bauchi State chapter.
Having secured his Senate seat in the 2023 elections under the PDP banner, Dr. Dahuwa previously held the position of Commissioner of Health during Governor Bala Mohammed’s initial administration.
In a letter dated October 6, 2025, personally signed and addressed to the PDP Chairman of Tsakuwa Ward in Azare, Katagum local government area, Dr. Dahuwa expressed his concerns over the persistent internal conflicts that have fragmented the party.
He stated, “The continuous internal disagreements causing needless divisions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) have significantly hindered my capacity to fulfill my legislative duties effectively as the representative of my constituency in the 10th Senate.”
Consequently, he formally announced his immediate resignation from the PDP, emphasizing his decision in the correspondence.
Despite his exit from the party, Dr. Dahuwa reassured the residents of Bauchi North of his unwavering dedication to advocating for their interests and delivering effective representation in the Senate.
