According to a statement released on Sunday by NDLEA spokesperson Femi Babafemi, Ejiofor, who owns boutiques in Lagos and Onitsha, Anambra State, was detained upon arrival from Bangkok, Thailand, on Ethiopian Airlines flight ET 941 on Wednesday, October 8, 2025. His arrest was based on reliable intelligence.

Subsequent body scans revealed the presence of illicit substances inside his digestive tract and private areas. Initially, 58 wraps of cocaine were extracted from his clothing.
