The following day, he messaged me again after spotting my photo on my page, inquiring if I attended Unilag, having recognized me by a distinctive birthmark from the mosque. Although I was initially preoccupied and didn’t respond to his friend request, he persisted, later reaching out to order footwear for himself. He even recommended my products to his acquaintances, impressed by the quality. Eventually, he followed me on personal social media and checked in occasionally. While on a business trip in Japan, he suggested a call via Snapchat. Curious, I requested a video call since he had no photos on his profiles. Despite the eight-hour time difference, we spoke for over an hour, discovering shared values, principles, and a deep appreciation for family. Our conversations continued, and our bond grew stronger with each call.

Back in 2018, after Jummat prayers, I noticed a young woman named Taiwo walking by. I told my friends she was the most beautiful girl I had seen that day. Since my friend couldn’t receive the slippers, I suggested using them for a giveaway. The next day, I recognized Taiwo from a photo on her page by her birthmark and confirmed she attended Unilag. Determined not to miss this chance, I asked to be friends, but she was initially unresponsive. Later, I ordered slippers for myself, which were so well-received that neighbors and friends wanted some too.

I saw her as someone special, even if just as a friend, so I followed her on social media and checked in occasionally. One day, after she posted on Snapchat, I asked if we could talk.
