Wale Ogunleye, aged 33, appeared before an Ekiti State Magistrates’ Court, facing charges of allegedly stealing 124 pigs.
The incident reportedly took place between 2022 and 2025 in Ipoti-Ekiti, located within the Ido-Ekiti Magisterial District.
According to the prosecution led by Inspector Akinwale Oriyomi, Ogunleye and accomplices are accused of conspiring to unlawfully take 124 pigs valued at N12,400,000, owned by Philip Arogundade.
Inspector Oriyomi informed the court that the accused’s actions violate Sections 421 and 302(1)(a)(a) of the Ekiti State Criminal Law of 2021.
Representing the defendant, Barrister Adunni Olanipekun requested that her client be granted bail.
Chief Magistrate Abayomi Adeosun approved bail set at N100,000, with two sureties each pledging the same amount.
The court scheduled the next hearing for November 3, 2025.
