  • A touching video captures a Nigerian single mother in tears after selling her phone at Computer Village, Ikeja, to afford food for her child.
  • The heartfelt footage has ignited widespread empathy and revived discussions about the challenges single parents face in Nigeria’s tough economic climate.
  • While many call for increased support and empowerment for these women, others have reopened debates surrounding parental duties and the realities of single motherhood.

A poignant video circulating online shows a young Nigerian mother breaking down in tears after parting with her phone at Computer Village, Ikeja, just to provide a meal for her daughter. This emotional moment has touched many hearts across social media platforms.

She revealed that selling her phone was her only option, highlighting the severe financial difficulties single parents endure in Nigeria today.

The video has sparked an outpouring of compassion, with numerous Nigerians advocating for better support systems and empowerment initiatives for mothers in similar situations. Conversely, it has also reignited conversations about the responsibilities of parenthood and the complexities surrounding single motherhood.

This viral clip continues to gain traction, underscoring the pressing issues of poverty and familial hardship within the country.

In a separate development, tensions have escalated between entrepreneur Blord and activist VeryDarkMan (VDM) following a dispute over a controversial iPhone modification project.

Blord recently posted a video showcasing what he claimed was a revamped iPhone XR, redesigned to mimic the appearance and features of the latest iPhone 17 Pro.

The clip highlighted the device’s transformation, which Blord asserted was carried out in China, incorporating design elements, icons, and functionalities similar to Apple’s newest release.

However, shortly after the video gained popularity, VDM accused Blord of misleading the public.

In a rebuttal video, VDM criticized the entrepreneur for inflating the price of the modified phone under the guise of innovation, labeling the project a “gimmick” intended to deceive consumers.

Unfazed by the backlash, Blord responded on Instagram, refuting the claims and affirming the legitimacy of his business. He mentioned operating a significant facility in China where the modifications take place.

In one of his posts, he stated:

“This guy says he owns a factory a hundred times bigger than my office in China. I’ve asked him to share the address-my team would love to pay a visit. Let’s see what happens.”

Blord also released another video defending the premium price of the customized iPhone, explaining that the cost reflects the meticulous craftsmanship and quality invested in the product.
