Jannik Sinner recently expressed uncertainty about his participation in the upcoming Davis Cup final eight, where Italy aims to defend its championship title on home ground, having triumphed in both 2023 and 2024.
During the Six Kings Slam exhibition in Riyadh, Sinner told Italian broadcaster Sky Sport, “I haven’t made a decision yet; I’m still unsure.”
Last week, the Italian star had to withdraw from the Shanghai Masters in the third round due to a cramp in his right thigh.
“We’re trying to understand the cause of the cramp. Sometimes these things happen without a clear reason. The important thing is that I’m feeling okay now,” he added.
At the Saudi Arabian exhibition, Sinner is set to compete against Novak Djokovic in the semifinals, with a $6 million prize awaiting the victor.
Sinner’s efforts were pivotal in securing Italy’s first Davis Cup victory since 1976, achieving this feat two years ago and successfully defending the trophy in 2024.
The 2025 Davis Cup final eight is scheduled to take place in Bologna from November 18 to 23.
