CIIN Emphasises Importance Of Unity In Insurance Industry

CIIN Champions Family Unity with Vibrant Insurance Industry Picnic

The Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria (CIIN) recently underscored the vital role of family bonds and community spirit within the insurance sector by organizing an engaging Family Picnic. This event united members, their families, and delegates from numerous insurance firms in a lively celebration of solidarity and industry collaboration.

On August 23, 2025, the picturesque Eleko Beach and Resort in Lagos served as the perfect backdrop for this gathering, offering insurance professionals a refreshing break to connect with colleagues and loved ones outside the workplace.

Leadership Highlights the Value of Work-Life Harmony

Mrs. Yetunde Ilori, the 52nd President and Chairman of CIIN, marked her inaugural Family Picnic with heartfelt remarks emphasizing the event’s significance in promoting a healthy work-life balance. She expressed her delight in hosting representatives from across the insurance landscape, highlighting the picnic as a platform to strengthen interpersonal relationships within the industry.

Distinguished Guests Foster Industry Camaraderie

Accompanying Mrs. Ilori were notable figures including former president Edwin Igbiti, Deputy President Akinjide Orimolade, Treasurer Adetutu Aruisika, council members Adeniran Aderinoye and Patience Ugboajah, CIIN’s Registrar/CEO Abimbola Tiamiyu, President of PILA Bimbo Onakomaya, and College Rector Dr. Chizoba Eheogu. Together, they toured various insurance company booths, engaging warmly with attendees and reinforcing the spirit of unity.

The presence and personal interactions of the leadership team were warmly received by the companies, who expressed gratitude for the president’s thoughtful outreach. This exchange of goodwill, accompanied by group photographs, became one of the event’s most memorable moments, symbolizing the close-knit nature of the Nigerian insurance community.

Fun-Filled Activities Enhance Family Engagement

The picnic featured a diverse array of entertainment options designed to delight attendees of all ages. Children enjoyed dedicated play zones, face painting, and horse riding, while adults participated in beach ball games and captured memories at a vibrant photo booth. These activities not only provided amusement but also fostered a collective sense of joy and belonging among participants.

Building Stronger Bonds for a Resilient Insurance Sector

Feedback from attendees highlighted the event’s success in creating a relaxed environment conducive to strengthening both professional and personal relationships. By prioritizing family involvement and social interaction, CIIN continues to nurture a supportive network that enhances the overall resilience and cohesion of Nigeria’s insurance industry.

As the sector evolves, such initiatives play a crucial role in promoting employee well-being and industry solidarity, setting a positive precedent for future engagements.
