The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command has successfully apprehended four individuals implicated in a one-chance robbery and an attempted kidnapping incident.

According to a statement released on Sunday, October 12, 2025, by the command’s spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, law enforcement officers rescued two victims during the operation. Authorities also seized 15 international passports, daggers, cutlasses, blood-stained documents, and several mobile phones from the suspects.

One of the rescued victims suffered multiple stab wounds inflicted by the perpetrators and was immediately transported to Gwarinpa General Hospital for urgent medical care.

“The FCT Police Command has detained four suspects connected to a one-chance robbery and attempted abduction, successfully securing the release of two victims,” the statement confirmed.

On the night of October 8, 2025, at approximately 10:09 p.m., the Life Camp Police Station received an emergency call from a victim reporting an abduction. The suspects demanded a ransom of N1,000,000 for her freedom.

Promptly responding to the distress call, officers from the Life Camp Division launched an operation. Utilizing both digital surveillance and tactical intelligence, the police arrested the suspects at Dape Village around 4:30 a.m. on October 9, 2025, following a tense confrontation.

During the raid, two victims were rescued. One victim, who had sustained several stab injuries, was rushed to Gwarinpa General Hospital and is currently receiving treatment.

The detained suspects have been identified as Solomon Tanko, Samuel Audu, Chigozie Joseph, and Emmanuel Chidiebere, all male.

Further investigations uncovered that the group had been conducting a series of one-chance robberies in the Bannex and Kado neighborhoods. They reportedly used a vehicle with tinted windows to lure and deceive unsuspecting passengers.

The suspects confessed to robbing six individuals, both men and women, prior to their capture.

Items recovered from the suspects include 15 international passports, two daggers, two cutlasses, blood-stained papers, four mobile phones, two hammers, and three ballpoint pens.

Following the completion of investigations, the suspects will be formally charged in court.

The FCT Police Commissioner praised the swift and decisive action of the Life Camp Divisional officers and encouraged residents to maintain trust in the police force by promptly reporting any suspicious activities for immediate response.
