Authorities in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) have successfully apprehended four individuals linked to a “one-chance” robbery and attempted kidnapping incident at Dape Village, Abuja.
According to Josephine Adeh, the spokesperson for the FCT Police Command, the breakthrough came after a victim urgently contacted the Life Camp Police Station last Wednesday.
“On the night of October 8, 2025, at approximately 10:09 p.m., the police-arrest-3-kidnappers-n2m-ransom-shooting/” title=”Delta … Nab Three Kidnappers Who Collected N2m Ransom and Shot … Over Insufficient Payment”>command received an emergency call from a victim who reported being abducted by suspected criminals demanding a ransom of ₦1,000,000 for her freedom,” she explained.
Following the distress call, the police launched an immediate investigation, utilizing both digital surveillance and tactical intelligence, which culminated in the suspects’ capture.
“Promptly after the report, officers from the Life Camp Division mobilized. By 4:30 a.m. on October 9, 2025, the suspects were detained at Dape Village following a tense confrontation with law enforcement,” the statement added.

FCT POLICE DETAIN FOUR INDIVIDUALS FOR ONE-CHANCE ROBBERY AND KIDNAPPING ATTEMPT
The Federal Capital Territory Police Command has taken into custody four suspects implicated in a one-chance robbery and attempted kidnapping, successfully rescuing two victims during the operation.
On October 8, 2025, at around 10:09 p.m., Life Camp Police Station received a distress call from a victim who claimed to have been kidnapped by criminals demanding ₦1,000,000 as ransom.
Immediately after receiving the alert, officers from the Life Camp Division acted swiftly. Employing digital and tactical intelligence, they arrested the suspects at Dape Village by 4:30 a.m. on October 9, 2025, following a near-lethal encounter.
Two victims were freed during the raid. One victim, who suffered multiple stab wounds inflicted by the suspects, was rushed to Gwarinpa General Hospital and is currently under medical care.
The detained suspects are:
1. Solomon Tanko (male)
2. Samuel Audu (male)
3. Chigozie Joseph (male)
4. Emmanuel Chidiebere (male)
Further inquiries uncovered that the suspects had been conducting a series of one-chance robberies in the Bannex and Kado neighborhoods, often using a vehicle with tinted windows to lure unsuspecting passengers. They confessed to robbing six victims, both male and female, prior to their arrest.
Items seized from the suspects include:
15 international passports, two sharp daggers, two cutlasses, blood-stained documents, four mobile phones, two hammers, and three ballpoint pens.
The suspects will face prosecution once investigations conclude.
The FCT Police Commissioner praised the rapid response of the Life Camp Division officers and encouraged residents to maintain trust in the police by reporting suspicious activities promptly for swift action.
