Renowned Nollywood producer Afeez Owo has responded to a heartfelt public apology from veteran actor Yemi Solade.
According to DAILY POST, Solade recently opened up in an interview, expressing remorse for slapping Afeez Owo during a film shoot.
He further revealed that he has since discussed the incident with several colleagues in the industry, seeking to make amends.
During a recent episode of the African A-List podcast, Afeez Owo addressed the apology, warmly accepting it and referring to Solade as a respected elder in the profession.
“Upon seeing his apology, I decided to move past the event. Even if he hadn’t apologized, I wouldn’t hold it against him because it felt like a situation where an older brother disciplines his younger sibling. Sometimes, even if the elder is wrong, the younger one is expected to show respect and apologize,” Afeez explained.
He added, “At that time, I was serving as the production manager while he was acting. My role was to ensure the comfort and needs of the cast and crew. When we were transitioning from the Ibadan set to a location in a Fulani resettlement area, I asked everyone to inform me of any items they needed so I could purchase them. Unfortunately, Uncle Solade misunderstood my intentions and, being hungry, reacted by slapping me.”
