Sevilla’s striker and Super Eagles forward Akor Adams netted his inaugural goal for the Spanish club, securing a 1-0 victory over Rayo Vallecano, according to Soccernet.ng.
Under the guidance of Matias Almeyda, Sevilla’s league campaign has been inconsistent, with only two wins recorded prior to their trip to Estadio de Vallecas.
Since his January transfer from Montpellier to the seven-time UEFA Europa League champions, Adams has faced setbacks due to recurring thigh injuries, which have slowed his progress in La Liga.

Akor Adams Reflects on His First Goal for Sevilla
Visibly relieved after scoring his maiden goal for Sevilla, Adams expressed his feelings post-match, emphasizing the collective effort over individual glory.
“Before focusing on myself, I believe the team put in a fantastic performance, showing resilience and a strong mindset,” Adams shared with Mundo Deportivo.

“I was ready when called upon and have been putting in the hard work. I’m grateful for the chance to contribute,” he added.
“Our team never gave up. We possess a winning mentality, and the coach’s trust in us is evident in our performances,” Adams concluded.
Gabriel Suazo, a teammate of Adams, expressed his satisfaction with the three points earned, especially after their previous setback against Villarreal.
“Securing the three points is a relief. Although it wasn’t our finest display, our determination and spirit shone through,” Suazo remarked.
“We anticipated a challenging match here; the opposition is tough. However, our grit, bravery, and passion define Sevilla’s character in every fixture,” he continued.
“The warm reception from my teammates makes me feel like I’ve been part of this club forever,” the Chilean midfielder added.
“The best way I can repay their support is by giving my all for the team and our fans,” Suazo said.
“We’re eager for a home victory and are putting in maximum effort to achieve it. I’m confident it will come sooner rather than later,” he concluded.

Looking ahead, Los Rojiblancos will host the reigning La Liga champions, Barcelona, in their upcoming fixture.
