On Monday afternoon in the Hamptons, actor Alec Baldwin was involved in a collision where his white Range Rover struck a tree, as revealed by photos obtained by Page Six. The front hood of the SUV showed significant damage, but both Baldwin and his brother Stephen, who was present during the incident, escaped without injury.
The 67-year-old star was captured standing next to the damaged vehicle, engaged in conversation with a police officer and making phone calls. Wearing a grey polo shirt paired with trousers, Baldwin maintained a composed yet serious demeanor. Fortunately, no injuries were reported despite the vehicle’s condition.
Representatives for Baldwin and the East Hampton Police Department have yet to provide official statements regarding the accident.
Baldwin had been attending the Hamptons International Film Festival, which ran from October 5 to October 13. Sources shared with Page Six that he actively participated throughout the event, attending screenings, leading panel discussions, and serving as a co-chair on the festival’s board.
In a subsequent Instagram post, Baldwin explained that the Range Rover involved belonged to his wife, Hilaria Baldwin. He described the crash as a result of being forced off the road by a large garbage truck, which he likened to the size of a whale. “I was cut off by a massive garbage truck, the thing was the size of a whale, and ended up hitting a tree,” he wrote.
The accident took place shortly after Baldwin’s brief visit to New York, where he attended the Buffalo Film Festival over the weekend. He had shared a video of himself enjoying a meal in Buffalo on Saturday before returning to the Hamptons for the festival’s closing day.
Meanwhile, Hilaria Baldwin, 41, recently addressed speculation about their marriage after being spotted without her wedding ring. She posted a lighthearted video on social media cuddling a plush toy of Alec’s Beetlejuice character, clarifying that she only removes her ring during rehearsals for her participation in Dancing With the Stars.
Following Hilaria’s unexpected exit from the competition, Alec shared a heartfelt video expressing his pride and love for her, saying, “I want to say I love you, Hilaria, and I’m proud of you… This has been a dream come true for you. Never stop dancing.”
The couple are parents to seven children: Carmen (11), Rafael (10), Leonardo (8), Romeo (7), Eduardo (4), María Lucía (4), and Ilaria (2). Alec also has a 29-year-old daughter, Ireland Baldwin, from his previous marriage to actress Kim Basinger.
Despite the severity of the crash, Baldwin remained unhurt and calm at the scene. The heavily damaged vehicle was subsequently towed away as authorities continued their investigation into the circumstances of the collision.
