In anticipation of the 2027 general elections, the Plateau State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) is preparing to welcome a wave of defectors from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and other political groups within the state.
To facilitate this transition, the APC has established a dedicated committee led by Arc Pam Dung Gyang, tasked with managing the integration of these new members.
At a recent stakeholders’ gathering in Jos, APC National Chairman Professor Yilwatda Nentawe revealed that Vice President Senator Kashim Shettima is slated to formally receive several high-profile politicians who have recently joined the ruling party.
Among those who have switched allegiance are notable figures such as former Plateau North Senator Barr Istifanus Gyang, ex-Political Adviser to Governor Caleb Mutfwang Hon. Latep Dabang, and Brigadier General John Sura (retired), who previously served as Secretary of the Rehabilitation and Resettlement Committee for Internally Displaced Persons, along with their supporters and numerous others across the state.
Simultaneously, key members from both the PDP and APC continue to resign, expressing dissatisfaction and a growing lack of trust in their respective party leadership and organizational frameworks.
