Nigerian reality TV personality and businesswoman Natacha Akide, widely recognized as Tacha, has launched an ambitious 24-hour beauty makeover marathon in Lagos, aiming to set a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of makeovers completed within a single day.
The event kicked off at 8:00 pm on Saturday at the John Randle Centre for Yorùbá Culture & History, Lagos, as a highlight of the Tacha Beauty Festival, which spans from October 10 to 12, 2025.
With a lineup of 150 models, Tacha and her dedicated team are working tirelessly around the clock to achieve this unprecedented milestone, marking a pioneering achievement in Nigeria’s beauty sector.
Prior to the official start, Tacha paid a poignant tribute to her late mother. A prominent banner displayed at the venue read: “Every makeover, every smile, every moment today is for you. Your legacy lives through me.”
In a touching moment, Tacha knelt before the banner in quiet contemplation and prayer before launching the record-breaking attempt.
The occasion drew a large gathering of admirers, influencers, and celebrities such as Hilda Baci, Broda Shaggi, Dabota Lawson, Nons Miraj, Liquorose, Somadina Anyama, and Samuel Banks, all showing their support for Tacha’s bold venture.
Organizers ensured a smooth flow as models rotated through their makeover sessions, although some participants noted minor frustrations over meal scheduling due to the high turnout.
The marathon is set to continue overnight, concluding on Sunday, after which comprehensive documentation and video footage will be submitted to Guinness World Records for official validation.
Should the attempt be confirmed, Tacha will secure a significant achievement for Nigeria on the international stage, following the footsteps of recent record holders like celebrity chef Hilda Baci.
