Collins Whitworth, a student at Bayero University Kano (BUK), recently made an ambitious bid to set a new Guinness World Record for the highest number of faces painted within three minutes.
The record-breaking kano/” title=”Court sentences man to d3ath for m8rder of three-year-old girl in …”>attempt occurred on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at BUK’s newly established campus in Kano, with generous sponsorship from Indomie.
During his first try, Whitworth painted 17 faces in just 2 minutes and 40 seconds. He matched this feat in his second round, completing 17 faces in 2 minutes and 50 seconds. On his final attempt, he surpassed his previous efforts by painting 20 faces in 2 minutes and 55 seconds. The standing record, held by Slovakia’s Emilia Zakonnova since July 30, 2025, is 12 faces.
Reflecting on his performance, Whitworth shared that his drive stemmed from a passion to highlight the creative talents emerging from Nigeria.
“My experience from the 2024 attempt taught me valuable lessons. This time, I was more prepared and concentrated. With Indomie’s support, I’m confident we can achieve something historic,” he remarked.
Support poured in from fellow students and onlookers alike. Sulaiman Haruna, a BUK student, expressed hope for Whitworth’s success, saying, “He did an outstanding job today, and I’m rooting for him to win.” Another student, Aisha, admired his rapid pace, while Jimoh Momoh, who witnessed the event, described the attempt as “truly impressive.”
Indomie released a statement expressing pride in sponsoring the event, emphasizing its commitment to fostering youth innovation and entrepreneurial spirit.
The Guinness World Records organization will now review the submission before officially confirming Whitworth as the new record holder.
