Honorable Mai Mala Buni, the Governor of Yobe State, has spearheaded significant transformations within the state’s public broadcasting sector through consistent support and strategic initiatives, according to Hon. Abdullahi Bego, the Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information, and Culture.

Addressing the 30th anniversary of Yobe State Television (YTV) in Damaturu, Commissioner Bego highlighted Governor Buni’s unwavering dedication to enhancing public communication by prioritizing the welfare and professional growth of media personnel across the state.

During his first term, the governor authorized the formal integration of 41 casual employees into the permanent workforce of Yobe State Radio (YBC) and YTV, a move aimed at boosting operational effectiveness and service delivery.

Furthermore, Bego revealed that Governor Buni approved the absorption of over 30 additional casual workers into various other state media organizations, reinforcing the human resource capacity essential for improved media performance.

“Governor Buni has placed the advancement of Yobe’s media institutions at the forefront of his agenda. By institutionalizing these staff members and continuously supporting the sector, he has empowered the broadcast media to better serve the community,” the Commissioner emphasized.

The anniversary celebration included a retrospective on YTV’s journey, underscoring its pivotal role in disseminating government initiatives, preserving cultural identity, and fostering social progress throughout the state.
