Residents of Ore in the Odigbo Local Government Area of Ondo State are in shock following a disturbing event involving a 27-year-old carpenter named Toheeb Ahmed, who is accused of fatally attacking his grandmother. According to reports from the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), the incident took place on Tuesday at Aiyegbami Street in Ore.
An eyewitness, who chose to remain anonymous, recounted the unsettling discovery. The elderly woman had been living peacefully in her home, and the reason behind the violent act remains unclear. The neighbour explained, “I noticed the suspect behaving oddly, which aroused my suspicion. When he stepped out, I checked on the grandmother and found that she had been brutally attacked.” The witness added that upon the suspect’s return, he was carrying a cutlass and was accompanied by another individual, seemingly preparing to move the body. This prompted the neighbour to alert the authorities immediately.
Confirming the incident, DSP Olayinka Ayanlade, the Public Relations Officer for the Ondo State Police, stated that Toheeb Ahmed has been apprehended and is currently held in police custody. Investigations are underway to uncover the full details surrounding the case and to ensure that justice is served. “The suspect is in custody, and we are thoroughly investigating the circumstances to bring clarity and accountability,” Ayanlade affirmed.
