Wimbledon and US Open finalist Anisimova swiftly dispatched her fellow American opponent in just 58 minutes, securing a commanding 6-1, 6-2 victory.
Having risen to the world number four spot during an impressive season, Anisimova demonstrated her exceptional skill by overpowering French Open champion Gauff with ease.
In Beijing, Anisimova was nearly flawless on her first serve, conceding only five points, and she dominated early by winning the opening five games consecutively.
“I delivered a strong performance today,” Anisimova reflected. “I knew I had to bring my best against Coco to come out on top, and I’m thrilled to have reached the final.”
Gauff, who had only previously lost on Beijing’s main court to Iga Swiatek in the 2023 semi-finals, struggled throughout the match, committing five double faults and frequently sending shots long or into the net.
In the final, Anisimova will face Linda Noskova, who staged a remarkable comeback to defeat Jessica Pegula 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 (8-6) after saving three match points.
American Pegula was on the brink of victory, serving for the match at 6-5 in the final set and holding three match points, but Noskova fought back resiliently.
Noskova pushed the contest to a decisive tiebreak, where she overcame two match points against her before capitalizing on an error from Pegula to seal her spot in the final.
