Faiza Abdulkadir, a cleaner who honestly returned an accidental deposit of N4.8 million into her bank account, has been generously rewarded with a N2.5 million gift from a benevolent individual.
On Monday, September 1, in Maiduguri, Aisha Muhammad Aisami, president of the Da’awah Wal Irshaad Women Organisation in Borno State, handed over the N2.5 million cheque to Faiza.
The benefactor, who preferred to stay anonymous, came across Faiza’s story online and contacted the organization to ensure the woman was located and acknowledged for her integrity.
Expressing her gratitude, Faiza thanked both the anonymous donor and the Da’awah group for their support. She urged everyone to live with a sense of accountability and reverence for God.
“When you have fear of God, you won’t be tempted by what isn’t rightfully yours. We should focus on preparing for the life beyond this world rather than chasing fleeting material wealth,” she reflected.
Faiza works as a cleaner at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital, earning a modest monthly salary of N30,000. She is the sole provider for her five children and elderly mother. Recently, she also received a N1 million cash gift, along with food supplies and vocational training tools, from the Borno State government. This presentation was made by the state’s First Lady, Dr. Falmata Babagana Zulum, just last week.
Zuwaira Gambo, the Commissioner for Women Affairs in Borno State, praised Faiza’s honesty, highlighting how exceptional her actions are given her financial hardships.
