The National Sports Commission (NSC) has officially announced its preparedness to conduct a thorough evaluation of sports facilities in Enugu State as part of the lead-up to the 23rd National Sports Festival, known as the “Coal City Games 2026.”
Set to take place from October 21 to 24, this inspection is a vital measure to verify that all venues meet the required standards, ensuring the festival lives up to its reputation as a premier event that fosters unity, showcases talent, and promotes sporting excellence throughout Nigeria.
In a statement issued on Monday by the Special Assistant on Media to the NSC Director General, the inspection team will examine current infrastructure, monitor the progress of ongoing renovations, and collaborate with local officials to confirm that Enugu is fully prepared to welcome athletes and spectators nationwide.
The Commission also praised the Enugu State Government for its unwavering dedication to hosting a memorable and successful festival, highlighting that such cooperation exemplifies the collaborative spirit essential for advancing Nigeria’s sports development.
