Renowned Nigerian artist Habeeb Olalomi Badmus, widely recognized as Portable, has once again found himself embroiled in controversy following a physical altercation at Port Harcourt International Airport in Rivers State.
A video that has rapidly gained traction across social media since Monday captures Portable visibly agitated, struggling with members of his entourage and airport personnel who were attempting to calm him down.
The confrontation took place on Sunday shortly after the singer and his team arrived in Port Harcourt ahead of a scheduled performance.
Curious about the cause of his sudden outburst, many speculated on what might have provoked such behavior. On Monday evening, Portable took to Instagram to clarify the circumstances that led to the clash.

Portable explained that upon arriving in Port Harcourt, he and his crew were standing outside the airport awaiting their vehicle when several commercial drivers approached, offering him a ride.
He recounted declining their offer, stating he was expecting his own pickup. The drivers then allegedly began recording him and ridiculing him.
According to Portable, the drivers accused him of being miserly and refusing to share money with them. Despite his efforts to ignore their provocations, the verbal abuse persisted, eventually pushing him to defend himself physically.
He further mentioned telling the drivers to seek financial assistance from President Tinubu if they were in need, warning that disrespecting the president could have serious consequences.
The singer maintained that he was merely protecting himself and clarified that the altercation was not with airport security or other passengers, but specifically with the drivers who provoked him.
Addressing a moment in the footage where he appeared to brandish a charm, Portable explained that it was intended solely to intimidate the aggressors.
