Rt. Hon. Jim Dickson, the Member of Parliament representing Dartford, has offered reassurance to the Muslim community, affirming that the United Kingdom remains a welcoming home for all individuals, regardless of their ethnicity or background.
Alhaji Mustapha Allen, chairman of the Nasrul-Lahil-L-Fatih Society (NASFAT) UK Pageswalk Branch, shared this message in a statement released to the press in Lagos. The pledge was made during the recent celebration marking the second anniversary of NASFAT UK Pageswalk Branch’s relocation from South East London to Dartford, Kent. The event took place at the NASFAT Islamic Community Centre (NICC) in Dartford, London.
Highlighting the core value of inclusivity, Rt. Hon. Dickson remarked that this principle is fundamental to Britain’s enduring strength and prosperity.
He stated, “There is room for everyone who wishes to contribute to our nation and help build a better Britain. Our country remains steadfast in upholding justice, freedom, tolerance, and mutual support, ensuring that all individuals can live with dignity and confidence.”
He further underscored the UK’s commitment to collaboration across all faiths and backgrounds.
“Whether you were born here or have chosen the UK as your new home, you are embraced as part of our society. This is the vision we strive for-a United Kingdom that welcomes all.”
“As an MP and as part of the government, I believe it is our responsibility to foster an environment where every community feels valued and supported. This involves promoting diversity, compassion, and acceptance so that people of all faiths-Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, Muslims, and others-can thrive in the UK,” Dickson added.
During his opening remarks, Alhaji Mustapha Allen reflected on the significance of the anniversary, describing it as more than a simple milestone but a testament to growth, accomplishment, and unity.
“Two years ago, our journey was not just about acquiring a physical space; it was about embracing the entire Dartford community with open hearts. What started as a practical solution to high rental costs has evolved into a symbol of solidarity, service, and optimism,” Allen explained.
He emphasized NASFAT’s ongoing positive impact in Dartford, noting its extensive community involvement, weekly educational initiatives aimed at youth development, continuous charitable outreach beyond the Muslim population, and the creation of a welcoming venue for diverse community gatherings.
