EDO: Woman Alleges Catholic Church Fired Her After She Exposed Priests Abusing Reverend Sisters

A Reverend Sister named Kinse Anastasia has reportedly been expelled from the Catholic Church after she publicly revealed alleged widespread sexual misconduct by priests towards nuns, whom she described as being exploited as their sexual objects.

Sister Kinse, formerly affiliated with the Auchi Catholic Diocese in Edo State, also claimed that her employment at Veritas University in Abuja was terminated following her courageous disclosure of the abuse occurring within the Church.

She addressed an open letter to the Congregation of the Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters, her religious community, accusing several priests of engaging in sexual relations with nuns and treating them as if they were their personal sex slaves.

In the letter, titled “We’re not your wives, stop using us as bedmates,” Sister Kinse asserted:

“We are not the spouses of priests, nor are we their companions in bed. We are devoted women of God. The Church must hold itself accountable because God is watching.”

She further implicated senior Reverend Sisters, alleging that some have knowingly participated in these abuses and even facilitated the exploitation of younger nuns by the priests.

Recalling a disturbing incident, she described how a priest once invited her to lunch, then stopped to purchase condoms, informing her that he intended to take her to a guest house for sex-a proposition she firmly rejected and escaped from.

Despite the gravity of her revelations, the Church responded by dismissing her, unwilling to confront the scandal she exposed.

On her Facebook page, Sister Kinse announced her expulsion, expressing disappointment that instead of investigating her claims, the Church chose to silence her through dismissal.

In a post titled “Message to the Public,” she wrote:

“Whoever has no one, has God. I wish to inform the public that on September 24, 2025, I received a dismissal letter from the Congregation of the Mother of Perpetual Help of the Archangels Sisters, dated July 21, 2025, along with a severance payment of one hundred thousand Naira (#100,000).”

“Upon returning to the convent, I found my belongings packed outside my room, and my religious garments had been confiscated. I handed over the habit I was wearing as well.”

“At present, I no longer possess any property belonging to the Congregation. From the depths of my heart, I sincerely thank everyone who has supported me with prayers and encouragement during this difficult time. Your kindness means more than words can express.”

“I remain a Catholic and love my Church deeply. Above all, I place my faith in God, whose throne is unshakable and who never forsakes His followers.”

With heartfelt gratitude,
Annastasia Kinse.
