Dr. Waripamo-Owei Dudafa, who previously served as Senior Special Assistant on Domestic Affairs and Social Events to former President Goodluck Jonathan, has officially left the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to align himself with the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Having also held a seat in the Bayelsa State House of Assembly, Dr. Dudafa made his departure known through a press release issued in Yenagoa, the capital of Bayelsa State.
His resignation was formally addressed to the PDP chairman of Southern Opokuma/Ayibabiri Ward 8, located within the Kolokuma/Opokuma local government area of Bayelsa.
In explaining his choice, Dudafa revealed that the decision followed extensive reflection and consultations with his political allies, supporters, and family members.
“My tenure with the party has been marked by a strong dedication to our collective principles and ambitions, and it has been a privilege to collaborate with so many committed individuals,” he remarked.
He highlighted that ongoing internal conflicts within the PDP, particularly at the national echelon, have obstructed the party’s advancement and fostered a divisive atmosphere.
“These unresolved issues have severely limited our capacity to progress and have cultivated a climate of discord that no longer supports the pursuit of our common goals and ideals.
“Therefore, I hereby officially tender my resignation from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP). This was a carefully considered decision, made after thorough discussions with my close friends, political colleagues, and family who have supported me throughout my career,” he added.
Recognized as a protégé of former President Jonathan, Dudafa also confirmed his transition to the APC, encouraging his followers to remain united and focused as they embark on this fresh political chapter.
